I get inundated with emails and DM’s about what it’s like to do a job like mine, so I thought I’d share a typical day in my life. I have done a few Instagram stories on my profile and they have been received so well. If you’re interested in watching these in video form, head to Sweeter Social’s Instagram. Here’s my day in more detail!
MORNING:
I start my morning with getting my body moving and go for a walk down the beach. This is my time to let my mind reset. My mind goes a million miles an hour and never stops thinking. I notice if I don’t get time to do this, I struggle with productivity throughout the day!
I start work between 7:00 and 7:30am and my first task is emails, emails and more emails.Check over messages that have been received overnight from clients. I like to be super approachable and be proactive with replying as soon as possible.
Log into all the social media accounts I manage as well as my own. I like to check engagements, insights, reply to comments, etc.
I always use the morning to work on my product photography projects that I have going on with brands as I prefer the morning sunlight. I have studio lighting too but prefer natural sun over the harsher artificial lights.
AFTERNOON:
Plan, schedule and copywrite all outgoing content (posts & stories). I plan all of my clients content a week in advance. I don’t like to plan too far ahead in case the content isn’t relevant anymore! I see soooo may social media managers planning their content a month out, and I really don’t suggest you do this because things change so quickly and out of the blue for businesses and brands. You don’t want to spend all this time planning our beautifully curated content and then realise it’s not relevant anymore!
Plan the next couple of shoots that are coming up. I shoot pretty much every single day due to my workload. I also prefer to shoot say over 2-3 days for each brand so that I have fresh ideas instead of trying to smash it out in one day. So, I might pick out 2 different businesses that I am working with and focus on them for 2-3 days.
Edit content from the previous shoots.Respond to any emails or DM’s that have come in throughout the day.
Head down to the beach and walk my dog Marlee with my partner Jackson to start winding down for the day! By this time it is about 4:00pm.

EVENING:
Spend some time on my business’s social media. I like to engage and interact with my community as well as connect with new people!
I also make time most days to continuing improving Sweeter Social. This could be writing a new blog post, planning content, updating the website, brainstorming new ideas or expanding my service offering.
Check emails and messages one last time…Write my to do list for the next day. I have to do this otherwise I get stressed when I wake up haha.
And that is a typical day in my life. However, no two days are the same, which is the best! I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and got to see an insight into what my days consist of being a Social Media Manager and Content Creator for my boutique agency, Sweeter Social.
